Wrestle with Us This Fall
This week I received a text from a recent new connection named Nate:
“I’m honestly so excited about what you’re doing. I think it’s freaking great. Just a few days ago I found myself thinking, ‘Am I still a disciple of Jesus? If I am, I'm not a very good one.’ It seems that a follower or disciple of Jesus would spend some time wrestling with his teachings. I haven’t read or studied scripture (in any consistent way) in years… The idea of wrestling with Scripture again sounds really good, and the way you guys are doing it seems really genuine and fits with where I am.”
Nate is new to 40 Orchards. He came to our first-ever Midrash Meetup this July, and wrestled through a study of Ezekiel 37 where we wondered together how to find hope when everything looks like death. It was a profound time, as it usually is.
Nate’s reaction is one I hear often, and it’s how I felt myself years ago when I first experienced this way of study.

Bring some friends to our next Midrash Meetup. It’s a great way to get a taste of what we do - in a larger group setting with a slightly shorter study time and no cost to attend. We’ll be doing these Meetups once a quarter.
Sign up for one of our 10-month Roots programs and spend this year expanding your sense of what is sacred and good through these monthly study sessions. Both Roots: Pentateuch and the Roots: Gospels are being offered in daytime and evening options. *If you have not participated in the Cultivate Cohort, Roots:Pentateuch (or Old Testament Roots) , or studied with 40 Orchards for over a year, we recommends tarting with Roots: Pentateuch.
