Scripture Circles are at the core of our hope to provide space to wrestle through biblical texts, so that- together- we can expand each other’s experience of what is sacred, whole, and good. Drop-in Circles allow you to try out a Scripture Circle without a long commitment, to explore what we do. These circles are also a way to pop back into a circle when you haven’t been for awhile, or to explore a topic that you want to talk through in community. We offer circles both virtually and in-person, with time varying from just a few hours to an entire day. These circles come in two forms: open and thematic.

In an Open Scripture Circle,

we start by checking in with each person gathered to find out what is on our minds and hearts. From the gathered questions and struggles, the teacher gives Scripture passage choices that fit the group. Then, we wrestle through whatever passage the group votes to explore. Together, we expand each other’s experience of what is sacred, whole, and good.

In a Thematic Scripture Circle,

we orient around a topic or passage of the Bible. As always, the circle begins with listening to who is gathered. But after that check-in, we move into the topic everyone gathered to talk about. Past thematic offerings have included, What the @#&! is Paul talking about?, Lent Lunches on Luke, and Potentially Dangerous Questions.
