For most of the last ten years, this cohort didn't just fund the people in it. It helped fund this organization. Full tuition covered a real share of everything else we do, the curriculum development, the pastoral care, the podcast, and the circles that have been free to join.
We cut the price to $1800 intentionally. We didn't want cost to be the reason someone didn’t participate, especially with a theme that feels so central to 2026. That meant the program that used to hold up part of our budget now needs help holding itself up.
Some of the people applying to this cohort do the kind of work it exists to support: organizing, chaplaincy, mutual aid coordination, and more. This kind of work asks a lot, and rarely pays well. The sliding scale is an acknowledgment that the people who would most benefit from this cohort often can't afford to pay for it outright. A gift on this page supports participants in it now, and keeps us standing so this cohort can be around next year.

Ways to donate
$3600 is what were were asking per person for the cohort, before we cut the price in half so more people could say yes. Give this and you cover the full gap for one person, no sliding scale needed on our end.
$1800 funds one person’s participation, and helps hold up everything else this organization runs on.
$900 splits the donation for someone participating who's giving what they can.
$450 puts you as part of a community funding a community’s participation.
$150 a month for a year fulfills the cohort donation for one participant, giving us something steady to depend on.
All money paid is a tax deductible donation, furthering the mission and vision of 40 Orchards, a 501(c)3.
